The idea for cat portraits was originally inspired by my Maine Coon cat "James Bond", at a time when I was in the mood for light and comical subject matter.
Since then I've painted a series which I have exhibited in groups of up to 30 paintings. I enjoy rearranging them to create a different narrative or sense of theater according to variations in expressions and color.
I've also experimented with a change of scale by having digital enlargements made that are over 3' square.
